Flyers’ Couturier recovering from abdominal surgery

Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier has recently undergone abdominal surgery in order to repair his “sports hernia.” Flyers manager Ron Hextall believes that the powerful center should be “fully recovered in 5-6 weeks” (www.flyers.nhl.com). Couturier, one of the youngest players to play in the NHL Al-Star Game, will join teammates Nicklas Grossmann, Tye McGinn, and Steve Downey, who are also nursing injuries this offseason.
