Nike Debuts Release of Jordan XI “Heiress” & FFBB Partnership

This week, Nike broke some big news announcing the release of a brand new shoe and another new international partnership. Nike has been very active in the basketball scene this year as their new NBA jerseys and team apparel debuted league-wide just a few months ago. Their aggressive pursuit to be the top recognized brand in basketball is paying off and they’re turning heads with their cutting edge designs in the process.

First, In what Nike has described as perhaps the most popular Jordan model of all time, the Jordan XI “Heiress” releases on November 24th, 2017. The Heiress’ design comes from swapping the silhouette’s patent leather for a premium suede upper with glitter accents and gold details. The classic white sole with fluid lines provides balance and style to the structured all-black shoe.

Black, white and red are the signature colors of the Jordan line, but the glitter and gold add femininity and sophistication making this a perfect women’s basketball shoe. Athletic shoes are becoming more popular in the formal wear department, so don’t be surprised if you see these shoes worn on and off the court alike.

Nike also announced that they will be partnering internationally with the French Basketball Federation in a multi-year partnership. Nike will serve as the official uniform supplier providing uniforms for the FFBB’s men’s and women’s senior, and youth 3×3 teams. FFBB President Jean Pierre Siutat stated that, “We are delighted to be partnering with Jordan Brand, and it marks an important step for our federation to serve basketball athletes. This partnership with Jordan Brand, a symbol of innovation, style and greatness in basketball, helps us to accelerate French basketball worldwide, and continue to grow in the coming years when we look ahead to the Olympics in Paris in 2024 and beyond.”

Larry Miller, President of the Jordan brand for Nike, has said that the growth of basketball in France produces a natural fit for the Jordan brand as they expand internationally. He went on to explain that, “We’ve seen the passion for basketball and the brand first-hand at Jordan Bastille and Quai 54, and we’re excited to contribute to the growth of the game in France moving forward.”

Nike’s commitment to excellence has made them a timeless brand that will forever be recognized as the footwear line to pick for basketball. I’m already excited to see what new styles they unveil for next year, and I will definitely be placing my order for the Jordan XI Heiress as soon as they are available.
